The Safety Egg Beam Sensor Photoelectric Infrared Barrier Detector (BS-IR30) is a photoelectric sensor designed to provide hands-free exit activation for electronic door locking and access control systems. The sensor emits an invisible infrared beam that triggers a relay when interrupted, sending a signal to a compatible central access control device, commonly referred to as a "nucleus." The nucleus device then activates the connected electronic locking device, allowing authorized exit without requiring a physical push button or keypad interaction. This makes the Safety Egg a cost-effective solution for adding convenient, touch-free exit functionality to secured residential and commercial doorways.

The Safety Egg operates using either 12V or 24V DC power and must be paired with a compatible nucleus device because it does not contain a built-in timed relay. The external access control device manages the duration of the door release, allowing the sensor to function as part of a complete electronic locking system. In addition to triggering door release, the BS-IR30 can be integrated with a compatible automatic door opener to help prevent accidental door closures while people are passing through the entrance. Its infrared beam detection provides a simple way to incorporate hands-free activation and additional door safety functionality into an existing access control setup.
