Recommended Applications:
- Fire-rated doors designed to remain closed during a fire to help prevent the spread of fire and smoke between areas
- Fire-rated glass doors with a metal stile (frame) of at least 4-1/4"
- Steel, wood, and composite solid-face doors
- Doors up to a maximum width of 36" (can be field-sized to fit doors as narrow as 30")
- Doors up to a maximum thickness of 1-3/4" when using an outside handle
- Doors with any usage frequency (light, medium, or high traffic)
- Single doors and double doors with mullions
Not Recommended For:
- Doors secured with a magnetic lock. This panic bar cannot release a magnetic lock.
- Non-fire-rated door applications. This panic bar is designed specifically for use on fire-rated doors.

Fire Rated:
The PB1100-FR Fire Rated Panic Exit Bar by LockeyUSA meets a 3-hour fire resistance test to ensure reliable performance in a variety of applications. The PB1100-FR Series also meets the ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 Panic Exit Hardware quality standards. This means that this model meets precisely defined criteria for performance characteristics, physical properties, test values, safety requirements, and more. Product grades are determined according to performance within each ANSI/BHMA standard, with Grade 1 being the highest grade. Not only does this series meet high safety standards, but it also meets high-quality standards, ensuring the device functions properly time after time.
Changing from Right to Left-Hand Mounting:
There is no top or bottom on this panic exit bar. Rotating the bar 180 degrees will position the latch in the opposite direction, allowing for either right- or left-hand mounting.
Latching and Mounting:
This panic bar is surface mounted and is installed on the rear face of the door. The strike mounts on the door frame behind the door, not on the inside of the frame where a handle may have previously been installed. If the door has an existing handle, it will need to be removed. Caps are available to cover the hole left behind after the handle is removed. Door jamb brackets are also available to cover where the old handle latched to the frame. Mounting bolts are provided; however, depending on the door material, you may choose to use wood screws, self-tapping metal screws, or, for added strength, sex bolts. Sex bolts have a female side on the outside of the door and a male side on the inside that join together through the door. Since both faces of the door are used to secure the bar, they provide a secure hold.

Door Closer
There are several variations of door closers with different features; however, the main purpose is the same: to ensure the door stays closed. Because this door will always latch to the strike, a door closer is a popular addition to help ensure the door remains closed and locked.
Keyless Panic Trims and Other Trims
If outside access is required, one of these accessories must be purchased; otherwise, the door can only be opened from the inside using the panic bar. PanicExitPro offers LockeyUSA keyless locks, which replace the keyed cylinder and are commonly used with panic devices. Lockey also offers a variety of easy-to-install trims.
