PRODUCT DETAILS

The V40-EB Alarmed Rim Exit Device is designed for primary and secondary exits that require an alarmed panic device to help prevent unauthorized exits while maintaining safe emergency egress. When the push bar is activated, the built-in 100-decibel alarm immediately sounds to alert management or security personnel, making it an excellent solution for retail stores, schools, warehouses, healthcare facilities, and other commercial buildings.

Powered by a standard 9V battery, the V40-EB combines dependable panic hardware with advanced alarm functionality in one durable device. Its heavy-duty construction, field-sizeable design, and patented mounting system provide fast installation and long-lasting performance while helping control foot traffic, deter theft, and meet life safety and building code requirements.

ASSEMBLY TIPS

Changing from Right or Left-Hand Mounting:

There is no top or bottom on this panic exit bar. Rotating the bar 180 degrees will position the latch in the opposite direction, allowing for either right- or left-hand mounting.

Alarm:

This panic exit bar is equipped with a 100-decibel alarm powered by a 9-volt battery. If the panic bar is used while the alarm is enabled, the alarm will sound. This is the primary feature of this panic exit bar. The alarm can be disabled with the included key. Once the alarm is disabled, the door can be opened without triggering the alarm.

Dogging:

This panic bar is equipped with Allen key dogging. Dogging is a method of leaving the panic exit bar unlatched for free entry through the door. Allen key dogging is a secure method of keeping the panic exit bar unlocked. Although an Allen key is a common tool, it is something most individuals would not typically have available. With the alternate method of dogging, knob dogging, anyone can walk up and turn the knob, leaving the panic bar unlocked. When the Allen key is inserted and turned, the latch on the end of the panic bar retracts and remains retracted until the key is turned back to its original position.

Optional Accessories (Sold Separately):

Door Closer

There are several variations of door closers with different features; however, they all serve the same primary purpose: ensuring the door stays closed. Because this door will always latch to the strike, a door closer is a popular addition to help ensure the door remains closed and locked.

Keyless Panic Trims and Other Trims

If outside access is required, one of these accessories must be purchased; otherwise, the door can only be opened from the inside using the panic bar. Panic Exit Pro offers LockeyUSA keyless locks that replace the keyed cylinder and are commonly used with panic devices. Lockey also offers a variety of easy-to-install trims.

Panic Exit Pro has actual experience.
We have a dedicated testing area, provide factory and in-house training, have installed this equipment on our own properties, attend industry trade shows in multiple countries, and visit our manufacturers' factories. When you see and use as many products as we have, you develop ideas for small improvements that make a significant difference. We have put those ideas into practice and used them to help thousands of customers create entry control solutions that work for their unique applications.
