Its fail-secure, power-to-unlock design keeps the bolt locked when electrical power is unavailable and unlocks it when power is applied through an activation device. The lock features a built-in release delay, allowing it to operate as a standalone locking system without requiring an additional timing relay or control unit. It can function as a deadbolt on the side of a door or as a top or bottom latch on double doors.
The electric drop bolt operates using a normally open dry contact from a compatible activation device, such as a keypad, card reader, push button, or switched handle. Its built-in magnetic sensor detects when the door opens and keeps the bolt disengaged until the door closes and the magnet realigns with the sensor. The lock features a solid 13.5 mm bolt, a magnetic core designed to resist tampering with a metal-cutting saw, and an optional EURO cylinder key release for manual operation during power failures.
